SAFETY

KEY PROPERTIES: Oil & Grease-Resistant is made from non-laminated foam construction that makes it more resistant to oil and grease than other materials. Welding Safe is made of laminated materials that resist damage caused by incidental contact with sparks. Antimicrobial is made of materials that include antimicrobial treatments to inhibit the growth of mildew, mold, and bacteria that can cause odors and spread germs. Autoclavable withstands exposure to hospital-grade cleaning chemicals and sterilization in an autoclave.

SURFACE DESIGN: Describes the appearance or texture of the top of the mat. Textured surfaces usually add some gripping power or slip resistance over smooth surfaces, which are used in dry areas. Decorative surfaces are generally used in custom- er-facing locations. MAT COLOR: Usually chosen to match an interior design or workspace. Contrasting borders call attention to the transition to reduce tripping.

MAT MATERIAL: Natural Rubber resists damage caused by incidental contact with grease and oil. Nitrile Rubber resists extended exposure to grease, oil, and some chemicals. Polyurethane is highly durable and chemical resistant and usually has a longer life- span than vinyl. Rubber Laminate has a flexible sponge base and a durable rubber top that resists damage caused by incidental contact with grease and oil. Sponge Foam is made of flexible sponge-like material to relieve strain from standing or walking and has limited resistance to oil, grease, and chemicals. Vinyl resists damage caused by incidental contact with some chemicals and acids. Vinyl Laminate has a flexible sponge base and a durable vinyl top that resists damage caused by incidental contact with chemicals and some acids.

EDGE STYLE: Beveled has a graduated edge to help prevent tripping and make it easier to roll equipment over. Straight sits flush to walls and other edges to ease cleaning and sweeping.

MAT HARDNESS: Relates to how much the mat compresses when walked or stood on. Harder mats are easier to push carts across and are usually chosen for walkways. Softer mats are generally used where workers stand for long periods of time.
