MATERIAL HANDLING Rolling Ladders

Features to Consider When Choosing a Rolling Ladder or Work Platform TREAD Use the chart to find the right tread material for your work environment. Tread Types:

Ribbed Expanded Metal Antislip Vinyl

BASE DEPTH Typically the taller the ladder the wider the base. Ladders with a 24"W or smaller base are suitable for use in tight spaces or narrow aisles.

Rubber Mat Open Grip Serrated

PLATFORM DEPTH

Consider working area.

PLATFORM HEIGHT

Subtract 5- to 6-ft. from desired working height.

OVERALL HEIGHT

Consider ceiling

or overhead obstructions.

RIBBED (ALUMINUM) RECOMMENDED USE

Aggressive Slip-Resistance ● Ideal in the harshest enviornments where liquids are present and other materials that can create buildup on the tread including grease, oil, and other debris. Maximum Drainage & Self-Cleaning Properties ● The most open tread design that provides maximum drainage and self-cleaning properties.

Good Slip-Resistance & Drainage Properties ● The most common tread used and ideal in most environments. Upward holes provide excellent slip-resistance and downward slots provide good drainage of liquids (exclusive to Tri-Arc). Durability & Longest Lasting ● ● Utilize the most material making these treads able to withstand the constant use over time and extending the life of the ladder and keeping it safe for use. Least Aggressive Environments (offices, backrooms, retail store floors, etc.)

● ● These solid treads provide slip-resistance properties that are ideal in environments where all types of shoes can be worn and where there are not liquids and other debris found.

FEATURES TO CONSIDER WHEN CHOOSING A ROLLING LADDER OR WORK PLATFORM When selecting a rolling ladder, it's important to consider the required access, working height, and load capacity. Understand your space and your needs, as picking the right size or length is just as important as the style you choose.

Load Rating Load Rating is the maximum weight capacity the ladder can safely carry, including the weight of the user and equipment. Make sure to factor in your tools and protective gear when looking for the right ladder.

Size Considerations The higher you work, the wider your ladder must be in order to remain safe. Consider working height or height and width limitation on ladder dimensions.

Ladder Actuation Rolling ladders feature various safety locking mechanisms to make sure your ladder doesn't roll while in use.

Rolling Ladders Essential for stockrooms and warehouses, rolling ladders from Grainger allow your workers to perform their duties safely at tall heights. They offer a wide range of motion fitted

with semi-pneumatic, spring-loaded or swivel casters. You can also find a folding rolling ladder that folds up into a flat inclined structure to be easily rolled into storage after use.
