Acorn Blind tapped hex nuts with an acorn-shaped, peaked cap keep the end of the bolt or other threaded fastener from protruding to protect the threads.

Cap Snap into place by hand and lock into the stud securely.

Captive Also known as insert nuts, captive nuts help provide load-bearing threads in soft or thin materials. See grain- ger.ca/fasteners.

Coupling Elongated nuts are tapped from each side so threads meet in the middle, rather than entirely through in the same direction.

Deformed Feature irregular internal threads that lock onto the mating threads of a bolt or rod and prevent rotation or loosening.

Hex General purpose hexag- onal nuts for use with nonlocking applications on male threaded parts.

Jam Used as a second nut; force against the main nut to bind threads and prevent loosening. Prevent 1 nut from moving in the direction of the other without turning both nuts.

Locknuts Lock onto threaded bolts or rods to prevent rotation or loosening. Minimal reusability.

Push Hold fasteners in place before final assembly process occurs. Styles available for studs and bolts.

Spring Reusable nuts provide the correct amount of spring tension without damaging surfaces, eliminating the need for lockwashers and spanners.

T-Nuts Nuts with prongs on 1 side that lock into wood. Often used for fastening metal to wood.

U-Nuts Multithreaded, tapped barrel nuts for high- torque tightening. Clip over the edge of the panel and snap into place to replace weld or stake nuts.

Weld Tab base nuts are used when working in confined spaces or when welding to thinner metals.

Wing 1-pc., round, threaded nuts have wing lugs for easy manual assembly. Especially suited to applications where frequent removal, replacement, or adjustment is required.
